Fashion for Fidos fundraiser tips

Fashion is going to the dogs this Friday night at The Style Loop as they host their 2nd Annual Fashion for Fido’s fundraiser.

The upscale resale shop in Rocky River will roll out the red carpet for shopping, prizes, food, drinks and of course a couple of adorable canines who are seeking their forever homes.

Last year’s event raised more than $1,100 for Fido’s Companion Rescue, Inc. a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue headquartered in Avon.

“We hope to raise more than $2,000 this year,” said Style Loop co-owner Heather Fay. “We’ve gotten amazing and generous donations that will be used as raffle prizes.”

Fay says they have gift baskets and gift cards from local businesses including Tomorrows Salon, Brown Aveda Institute, Pure Enchantment (makers of hand poured soaps and skincare products), Robert Patrick Salon, Bomba Tacos & Rum, Fresco Mexican Grill & Salsa Bar and Mitchell’s Ice Cream.

The cost to enter is $10, which includes a ticket to the door prize raffle, a $100 Style Loop gift card. All proceeds and a portion of the evening’s clothing sales will go to the rescue.

Event hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be pizza from Mellow Mushroom, beer from Sibling Revelry Brewing of Westlake, wine and sweets.

Bessie is a sweet and lovable adult American Bulldog and American Staffordshire terrier mix. She came to the rescue a bit of a portly princess, but with love and exercise, she’s slimmed down significantly. She is people, cat and other dog friendly. Champer is a 6-month-old Shetland Sheepdog and Beagle mix who had a broken leg when he was rescued. He’s better now and is just looking for love…and some training.

Style Loop co-owners Fay and Emily Reitenbach, who was a Fashion Flash subject last year (See her story here), opened the Style Loop more than a year ago. The store has high-quality upscale clothing that is sold on a consignment basis. They have everything from handbags, jeans, shoes and boots, sweaters, outerwear, evening wear and much more. There’s jewelry, accessories and athleisure from brands like Lululemon. There’s Gucci and Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade and Free People.
